Be Open and Empty

In Zen Buddhism, there's a concept called "zen mind," or "beginner's mind."  They say that the mind should be like an empty rice bowl.  - Marianne Williamson

Do you ever allow your mind to become empty like a rice bowl? If it’s already full, the universe can’t fill it. If it’s empty, it has room to receive. This means that when we think we have things already figured out we’re not teachable. The Universe can only inspire a mind that’s open to receive it.

Surrender is a process of emptying the mind. Liberation isn’t about breaking out of anything it’s a gentle melting into who we really are.

Opening ourselves up to this idea of surrender in order to experience liberation might spark a couple of different emotions. A lot of times we hear the word surrender we automatically think giving up something, losing something, or submission.

Surrender and submission are not identical. They may be similar in some cases. However, when we’re considering your mind, surrendering your mind to allow space for your spirit to connect with your source is a powerful state of surrender. It involves absolutely no submission. The only thing that you are submitting to is the fact that your source of power is trying its best to be able to reach you.

The only way for you to be able to receive from the source of power, is to surrender your mind. Does that make sense? Think of it like this, there’s a saying somewhere that goes something like: "closed mouths don’t get fed" ... a closed fist cannot receive, and a closed heart cannot love. If you think of things being closed, then you consider them being in accessible in some form.

Even in a relationship. When you meet someone, and you're open, things just flow naturally, organically, and before you know it you start to feel a sensation of euphoria, which is often a result of you being open and willing to receive. However if there is a fracture in the relationship, things begin to shift, and closure begins to happen. That flow of organic euphoric energy is no longer able to move with the same efficiency and freedom as it was before.

The same type of flow exist in the universe. When you are open, to allowing everything that you want to be, do, or have then you are creating a direct pathway from your source to your life for those things to manifest. However, if you allowed yourself to be closed as a result of disappointment, past trauma, or just poor decision making on your part, then you’ve put a block up.

So you can’t really be mad if the things that you want are not manifesting as quickly as you would like them too. You have to remain open. You have to remain vulnerable. I get that can be scary. However what’s scarier? Continuing to have the life that you currently have or opening yourself up? Letting yourself be seen?  Allowing yourself to be vulnerable, and just receiving whatever it is it’s meant to manifest for you?

I don’t know about you but if there’s any areas of my life that I want to improve, and trust me there are areas of my life that I want to improve. Don’t be fooled. I don’t have all the shit figured out. As I figure it out, I shared with you. And I hope that you share with others.

As I was saying, areas of my life that I want to improve I know that I have to be open, willing to admit to myself that I really don’t know what the fuck I’m doing sometimes, and sit back, set my intentions, release and trust that the universe is going to provide because every time that I do, I get exactly what I want.

One of my Mantras is, "When I am my best self, I get everything I want". So I choose to be my best self every day.  I get better at being my best self every day. In the process of doing so I’m not competing with anyone but my old self. Truthfully I’m not even competing with my old self, because my old self dies away each day. And my new self is embraced each day.

Today, allow yourself to be willing to surrender. You’re not surrendering your power.  You’re not surrendering your worth.  You’re not surrendering your truth. All that you are surrendering is your resistance. And when you are willing to surrender your resistance you will most certainly open up a direct pathway to manifestation of everything that you wish to do, be, or have.
